Swedish Modern Venetian Bird
Very large sommerso art glass mid-century modern bird figurine. Made by Pilgrim Art Glass with label still attached. Circa 1960s. From Pilgrim’s “Swedish Modern” line. Anything “Swedish” was adored by the Americans during the mid-century years. Pilgrim is an American glass maker, one of many who happily adopted the inspired ultra-modern Swedish design style of the day.
Hand-made with full-length stylized center bubble encased in amber glass, then encased with clear glass. Applied eyes and beak. VERY hard to find. Most of these have not survived the last 50 years.
Large. This lovely bird measures 13″ long, 7″ at tallest point,and weighs 3.25 lbs.

The squirrel measures 3.25″ tall, 3.25″ at widest.

Crystal Decanter and Pitcher Bar Accessories
Beautiful heavy pressed crystal decanter and full-size pitcher. The decanter has a diamond block pattern on the body, a three ring neck with ovals, and a diamond block sunburst stopper. The pitcher has a diamond block pattern with vertical wedges, the handle is trimmed with ovals, the rim is trimmed with half ovals, and the base is a notched platform. The pitcher’s body pattern looks just like Waterford Lismore (see example below). Both are unsigned. The heavy pitcher has a medium weight band of bottom-wear caused by surface contact. The decanter has very light bottom-wear. Both have beautiful brilliance and clarity. Although the patterns are not exactly the same, they go together beautifully.
The glass looks and feels the same, as if they came from the same maker. They were found together. Age unknown. Both have a distinct ‘old fashioned’ styling. Probably Czech crystal. The Waterford Lismore line is actually Czech crystal. Waterford is known as ‘Irish’ crystal, but Czech makers are providing some of their molded crystal products now. It’s the same high quality crystal, but not hand-cut.
The large decanter measures 12½” tall, weighs 3½ lbs. The 24 ounce pitcher measures 8.25″ tall and weighs 4 lbs.

Delicate Blueberry Blown Glass Bowl Set
1960’s Danish Modern delicately blown blueberry glass. These bowls are from 1950s Iittala (Finland) , Nuutajarvi Notsjo line designed by Kaj Franck. Fabulous and rare “blueberry” color. Finely blown glassware with pontils on base. Stunning set, graduating in size. Hard to found these days, mortality rate over the years is high. The delicate blown glass is very thin.
The large bowl measures 6″ at widest and 3.5″ tall, the medium bowl is 5″ at widest and 2.5″ tall, the small bowl is 4″ at widest and 2″ tall.

Thumbprint Cordial Size Goblets
Set of four Thumprint (aka King’s Crown) whiskey or cordial size goblets. Each have three mold lines from the foot, through the stem, and stopping the polished bowl.
Circa 1920 – 1970. King’s Crown was first made by the Adams glass company (pattern then known as Excelsior – mid 1800s), followed by U.S. Glass, followed by Indiana Glass, followed by Tiffin Glass, Fenton, Tiara and other mid-century makers. These goblets appear to be from the 1940s or before.
Each goblet stands 3.75″ tall and holds 1.5 ounces.

Jeannette Depression Glass Satin Glass Pink Covered Comport with Label
Rare ‘like new’ 1920s Jeannette Glass pink satin long-stemmed covered dish with label. This beauty was protected very well. The only sign of age is the Jeannette label remnant. The pink satin glass is in original condition, bright and shiny. No scratches. No signs of use. No bottom-wear. Remarkable. Satin glass is semi-opaque. The light shines through softly. It also feels soft and satiny to the touch. Antique satin glass often has a ‘dulled’ finish due to to harsh chemicals used in cleaning. This pristine example still retains it’s original luster.
Hand-made molded glass from one of America’s best known elegant Depression glass makers, Jeannette Glass. Stands 9″ tall and 6″ at widest, with a widest girth of 16½”. Weighs just under 2 lbs. Perfect for the pink vanity or elegant table.

Battuto Carved Tower Vase Sommerso Art Glass
Stunning retro orange hand-blown sommerso glass with hand-cut Battuto decor. This vase is gorgeous. Hand-blown and cold cut. Made with luminous bright carrot orange glass blown with colorless glass (sommerso). The glass is quality and heavy. The exterior was hand carved in wide horizontal cuts in the Battuto, Inciso or Martele fashion. Battuto (or Battuti) means “struck” in Italian. Martelé literally means “hammered” in French. The word in Italian is “martellato”. This may be a vintage Italian object. Italian masters like Carlo Scarpa of Venini, and pre 1960 Galliano Ferro, Carlo Moretti for Rosenthal, among others, created forms like this. Scandinavian countries, like Denmark and Sweden (Orrefors) made art glass with incised decor in the mid 20th century also. It is of exceptional quality. The bright orange color points to the 1960s – 1970s. There is one more clue on the seat of the vase. A shadow remains of the original label. It is impossible to read, but the shape of the label, and the square located inside the label, could lead to the maker’s identity.
Tapering 14″ tower of thick quality glass. It weighs 2 lbs.

Apple Green Owl Fairy Light by Viking Art Glass
Retro mod owl fairy light. Viking Art Glass 2-Piece “Glimmer” Candlelight, pattern #6900. The owl light is made from a 2-part mold with polished chimney. The thick glass is an apple green color. Circa late 1960’s-1970’s. Wonderful mod detail – stunning when lit.
The owl light measures 6.75″ tall, 3.5″ wide. It weighs 1.5 lbs.

Vintage Retro Modern Tutti Frutti Bowl by Murano Art Glass
Made at Vetreria Fratelli Toso in the 1950s, probably by Vittorio Ferro. Credit for the “Tutti Frutti” pattern is given to Dino Martens in the 1940s of AV.E.M. Stunning example of early mid century modernist Italian art glass. This beautiful busy decor was named “Tutti Frutti” which is Italian for “all fruits”. Hand blown with a polished base and heat finished rims. Blown emerald green glass layered with silver leaf aventurine, layered again with colorful cannes and entirely encased in cristallo (clear). The seat has heavy bottom wear with small seat chiggers. This occurs from scraping against the surface it is sitting on for years. A remnant remains on the base that is unrecognizable. It is probably a Vetreria Fratelli Toso round label.
The companion clam shell bowl found with this large bowl has the remnants of a label belonging to Ferro when he was master glassblower at Vetreria Fratelli Toso. It may be a label remnant or it may be a dot of very old cork. There is a tad of red and bluish on the remnant and at times it looks like there may have been print on it, at other times it just looks like nearly petrified cork. This beautiful large folded bowl makes a great display or catch-all, but was designed for food service also.
This lovely bowl measures 7.5 x 7.5″ square, 9.5″ diagonal, 3.25″ deep. It weighs 3 lbs.

Ultramarine Swirl Console Set by Jeannette Glass Company
Lovely console set with bowl, platter and candlesticks. This beautiful color and pattern was made only in 1937-1938 by Jeannette Glass Company. These Depression glass pieces are in an unusual bluish green color for the era, called “Ultramarine”. The pattern is called “Swirl”. The platter size is larger than shown in reference books, almost 13″ wide, it is listed at 12.5″. The 4.5″ candlesticks are not of the Swirl pattern, but are color matched and also from the depression era, probably by Jeannette. The bowl and the candlesticks are in excellent condition. The platter has some surface useage scratching in the center section that can be seen when held to the light. This stunning old glass was made only within a two-year period and is scarce today. Many items are found with slightly different hues of Ultramarine. These items are color matched.
The set includes (1) 12 7/8″ platter, (1) 10″ footed bowl with handles and (2) candlesticks in a matching ultramarine color.

Italian Vintage Optic Glass Olive Green Hand Blown Canisters
Vintage, or perhaps antique, blown art glass canister set of 3. These may be from Italy (imported during the mid-century to sell to the mass market during the Italian Glass craze). Or they may be antiques, the lids fit on the inside of the neck which is a very old method.
Two are in excellent condition. One (medium sized) has 2 very small sliver chips on the inside of the lid that can’t be seen when lid is in place. Amazing, well preserved condition. Canisters like these normally do not survive intact.
Sold as set of three; (1) 13″ Extra LARGE canister with lid, 5.5″ base; (1) 11″ large canister with lid, 5″ base; and (1) 8″ canister with lid, 4″ base.
Medium weight blown glass with vertical optic panels on vessels and lids. Deep, beautiful olive green color. Finials are hand-tooled solid glass. Very well-made glass. Certainly from a fine maker. Interesting antique style lids – the lids fit “inside” the cannister opening. Inner fit lids were made before the 1900’s. We tend to think these are vintage, 1950’s, made in the antique style. But we could be wrong.
Identity research continues. Truly fabulous set. Cornerstone of kitchen decor, very appealing.

Italian Murano Art Glass Set of Birds
Set of TWO fabulous vintage art glass bird figurines from mid-century Italy. They are in perfect condition, no chips, no cracks, no scratches.
These were very popular in the 1950’s. Although this pair does not have labels still attached, we have another (sold separately) iridescent blue bird with label that reads – Genuine Venetian Glass Made in Murano, Italy – .
The inner colored glass casings of both birds have an iridescent glimmer. The orange crane is 8.5″ tall. The green swan like bird is 8″ tall. Both solid cased glass, hand blown. Solid glass base, nose, crown and eyes applied. Lovely specimens!

Italian Hand Formed Glass Stacking Bowls in Rootbeer
Set of three retro stacking art glass bowls made in Italy in the 1950’s – 1960’s. Rare ‘Rootbeer’ colored hand-formed glass. Very dark brown glass looks almost black. With bright lighting, the rootbeer color shows and you can see it a bit in the images.
Beautiful and versatile. Use as ashtrays, pipe holders, candy dishes, flower bowls, catch-all, candleholders, incense burners, etc. Hand-blown and hand-tooled. Pulled finger ruffles and tool stamped ‘wings’. Made in Italy during the mid-20th century and imported to the U.S. Hard to find as a set. Hard to find with unchipped ‘wings’. All are in excellent condition.
Largest measures 5″ wide and 3″ tall. Medium measures 4″ wide, 2½” tall. Smallest measures 3½” wide and 2″ tall.

Stunning vintage cased Italian Glass with metallic leaf avventurine. In excellent condition. Circa 1940’s – 1950. Made by a fine Italian craftsman, probably by Seguso or Barbini. Swirled with gold avventurine throughout. Handblown with hand-tooled leaf tips. White glass encased in clear glass. Polished bottom with some bottom-wear.
LARGE Measures 12.25″ long, 5.5″ at widest and is 2″ deep. Weighs 3 lbs. Truly beautiful and well-made art glass relic from the mid-century.

Beautiful and useful hand-made Italian glass stacking bowls from the 1960’s/1970’s. Set of three.
Designed to be versatile. Will double as candleholders, incense burners, catch-alls, flowers, plants,snack bowls and even ashtrays. Wonderful retro ‘olive green’ color enhances the organic design. Heat finished rims were pulled, and side fins were stamped by hand.
Largest measures 5″ wide and 3″ tall. Medium-size measures 4″ wide and 2.25″ tall. Small bowl fits in the palm of your hand, measures 3½” wide, 2″ tall. In like-new condition.

Italian Glass Cased Vase by Salviati Signed and Dated
Big, beautiful steel blue ball trumpet vase by Salviati. Acid-etched on base “Salviati 1997”. Also retains “Made in Italy” sticker on the side. The Salviati family is synonymous with Italian Murano glass art. This vase is almost 13 years old and is no longer in production. This form is very scarce. It is in like-new condition with very light bottom-wear. Large and heavy vase made of triple-cased glass. Inner layer is milk white, center layer is blue and outer layer is clear. Layers combine to produce a light steel boy blue. Perfect gift, filled with flowers for the discerning new mother of a bouncing baby boy..or girl.
Measures 12″ tall, 7″ wide with a girth of 21″. Weighs 3.5 lbs.

Italian Glass Canister Jar in Dark Blue
Large vintage Italian kitchen glass canister with ‘Made in Italy’ embossed on the seat. The neck and cover are ground to match and provides a good tight seal. The lid handle is a flat oblongish disc. It was blown from mold in a rich deep dark blue glass that catches glimpses of amethyst. The grinding on the neck and insert was done by hand. In great condition. Has one trapped bubble within the glass and three small chiggers on the inner rim where the cover insert bumps against the glass. The chiggers can’t be seen when the lid is on. Medium weight solid ring of bottom-wear on seat from years of surface contact. Glass is clean and brilliant.
Measures 9.25″ tall, 5″ wide with a 14½” girth. Thick walled glass weighs 2½ lbs. Made in Italy, circa 1960 – 1980.

Italian Glass Antiqua Candle Holder Designed by Husted of Blenko
1960’s Medieval inspired art glass votive candle holder. Design attributed to Wayne Husted after leaving Blenko Art Glass in 1963. Husted created this design for a line of glassware for the Stelvia Glass shops in Tuscany, Italy and exported it through Colony glass. The pattern is called “Antiqua” and and appealed to the popular Medieval decor rage of the early 1960’s.
Beautiful and interesting piece. The vessel is molded, but the twisted stem and the base are handblown and applied. Pontil mark on the seat of the base, and bottom wear is visible (shows age and is expected). In excellent condition. Beautiful dark saphire blue color.
Measures 6.5″ tall, taller than most wine glasses. Could be used as a wine glass or a vase as well. Fits a 2″ wide by 3″ tall votive candle.

Italian Blown Optic Glass Tall Trumpet Goblet Vase
Tall, elegant retro avocado blown glass vase. Made in 1950’s – 1960’s Italy. Beautiful authentic retro home decor fluted vase with ruffled rim is perfectly suited for a spray of garden flowers. Avocado green glass, blown from a panel optic mold. The stem and foot are hand formed, and applied to the vessel. Finished with pointed ruffles around the rim.
Stands 13″ tall. Can also be used as a candleholder. NOTE: Always remove any metal part from contemporary candle before using in vintage glass. In excellent condition. Glass has some trapped air-bubbles, common with mid 20th century blown glass. Stunning presentation vase, pleasing color, fabulous style.

Italian Art Glass Gold Ribbed Paperweight
Richly laden with spiraling ribs of gold flake and mimicking wisps of green and pink verde behind the gold. Encased in crystal. Looks like a mellon. Intricate and beautiful.
The KB Italian Glass sticker tells us that this big beauty was imported from Italy during the 1960’s to 1970’s. The ‘Koscherak Brothers’, established in 1887, brought huge amounts of Italian art glass to New York for distribution in the United States. Although the export glass art was never signed by the original artists or glass houses, many were designed by well-known mid-century Italian Masters such as Fratelli Toso and Barbini. The ‘KB’ sticker has been found coupled with A.VE.M. s(Arte Vetraria Muranese) sticker, a well-known Italian luxury glass maker.
Made by hand. Weighs 2 lbs. Stands 3½” tall and 3″ wide. Has multiple tiny trapped air bubbles within the spirals and one larger elongated bubbles. No damage. Very light bottom-wear.

This design is often confused with Blenko’s petal bowl – Blenko’s petals form more of a point compared Indiana’s rounded petals.

Impressionist 1970’s Art Glass Hand-blown Beverage Pitcher
While researching this retro art glass pitcher we learned that three major glass houses made this style during the 1970’s. At first we thought it may be an elusive design by Linda Cleves for Tiffin Glass in the 1970’s. Still a possibility. Linda Cleves worked for Tiffin a short time before she went to work with Fostoria. Fostoria has a line with decor much like this, introduced in 1977, but it is accredited to Jaimie Carpenter and called ‘Fostoria’s designer Collection’. The collection came in three styles that we know of; 1) Impressions 2) Impromptu, and 3) Interpretations. This pitcher looks much like Fostoria’s designer collection ‘Impressions’. Also, in the 1970’s, Per Lutken and Michael Bang created a line with decor like this for Holmegaard (Denmark).
Unsure of maker at this time. We are sure that it was made in the 1970’s. A few more clues are present. When viewed under blacklight the colorless glass reflect a light orange, a 1970’s glass clue. It has an applied hollow free-blown handle (extra effort and expertise), which is a Tiffin trait but could also be found on Fostoria or Holmegaard objects. The seat does not have a pontil mark, it is smooth and slightly concave. The body was blown into a mold. The seat has a semi-solid ring of bottom-wear caused by surface contact over the years. There are a few tiny unintentional trapped bubbles near the decor, which are present on examples of all three glass makers mentioned.
Hand blown cased glass. Inner layer is a light cream color, center layer of decor was hand-applied then blown out, outer layer is colorless. Beverage pitcher measures 8″ tall, weighs 2 lbs and holds 40 ounces. In excellent condition.

Imperial Cube Crystal Bottle Candlewick Stopper
Rare cologne-sized crystal bottle from Imperial Glass. Imperial Glass was an elegant maker from the early 20th century. They are well-known for the “Candlewick” pattern. The cube pattern is less well-known. This bottle was made in quality crystal in the cube pattern, with an ORIGINAL stopper in the candlewick pattern. Imperial often mixed and matched their patterns.
It reflects the purple, indicating lead crystal. This glass is thick and brilliantly clear. The early goblets in the image contain manganese (a mineral used to replace scarce lead) which reflects yellowish/green. The base of this bottle has a round indention in the center. The indention was intended to hold the bottle in place in a service or vanity set. This bottle was once part of a service or vanity set.
Weighs 1/2 pound. Stands 6″ tall. In excellent condition.

Imperial Cathay Satin Glass Dragon Dish
Rare 1940’s Coiled Dragon Bowl. This fabulous satin glass dragon bowl hails from Imperial Glass’s “Cathay” line produced in the late 1950’s.The Cathay line consisted of a few oriental style decor objects which are all hard to find today. The Dragon Bowl is EXTREMELY hard to find.
Trailing behind his head is his wings that are folded into his body (hard to see). Thick, heavy, excellent quality vintage Imperial glass with matte satin surface. Flat polished base, no mark. Cathay items were usually signed, some were not. This is not signed. Imperial Glass was an elegant maker of the past, no longer in business.
Light bottom-wear with 1 tiny, thin sliver on seat of base, the sliver is impossible to detect unless turned upside down, too small to show up on camera. So miniscule, it can’t be classified as damage, more of a bottom-wear issue. Measures 6″ wide, 2.25″ tall to the tip of dragon’s head, weighs 1.5 lbs.

Imperial Candlewick Glass 6 Part Divided Server
Elegant Imperial Crystal Lazy Susan. The Candlewick line was designed and patented by the Imperial Glass Co. in 1936. This beautiful, high-end glass pattern was inspired by the cotton wick that was used in Colonial America embroidery. Candlewick glassware was very popular and it was produced until 1982. It can be found in 100’s of different glassware shapes.
This 10″ wide, 1.5″ deep, 5 tab handle tray is part of the 3-piece Lazy Susan set. Originally came with a bowl for the center and an ashtray. We have not seen the set together, nor have we’ve found images of it. Hard to imagine how the ashtray fit in! The complete 3-piece Lazy Susan set was valued at $300.00 in 1991.
The glass is medium weight and high quality. In excellent condition. Polished ring base. Extremely fun to collect and use. The Candlewick pattern came in a large variety of colors, decoration (etchings, gold, etc.), and shapes.

Iittala Tsaikka Glass Cup Set in Blueberry
Designed by Timo Sarpeneva, Finland. In the very hard to find, very pleasing smok blue color called “Blueberry”. Iittala Tsaikka glass cups were designed in 1957, but the holders (allowing for hot beverages) did not go into production until 1964, so these would date between 1964-77.
All in excellent condition. The metal filigaree holders are removable. The tumblers alone are great for cocktail glasses. With the holders, they are perfect for tea and coffee drinks. Metal filagree holders. Fine blown glass.
Set of four. Measure 3.5″ tall with a 2.75″ wide mouth.

Iittala Glass Festivo Candlestick Set Timo Sarpaneva Initials
With Iittala labels and the initials of Timo Sarpaneva himself. Unusual to find these signed by Timo Sarpaneva (b. 10/31/1926 – d. 10/6/2006), TS on base. Each also have a label. Pattern called Festivo. Thick, icy, finnish art glass. Designed by Sarpaneva in 1967.
Sarpeneva designed for Iittala beginning in 1950. He was born in Helsinki, Finland in 1926 and died in 2006. Both in excellent condition. It is uncommon to find these with the initial, only some were signed in this way. Most that were produced by him bear his full signature. Each measure 3.25″ tall.

Iittala Festivo Candle Holder Set Designed by Timo Sarpaneva
Beautiful Finnish art glass candle holders look like an ice columns. Iittala calls this pattern ‘Festivo’.
Some can be found with etched initials on the base; ‘TS’ for Timo Sarpaneva, a renowned glass artist who designed the Festivo line in 1966. Not all Festivo sticks are signed with his initials. This set of three candlestick holders is not signed and was produced recently.
Superb design. Fun to collect. The Festivo candlesticks are still produced today by Iittala. In beautiful, like-new condition. The tallest (four rings) is 7.25″ tall, the two ring is 4.75″ tall and the small single ring is 3.25″ tall. The set weighs 3½ lbs.
