Detailed figural art glass decanter with a red tipped nose

This Czech man is drunk or cold…or both. The red nose is not just a red dot on the tip of the nose, it is a spot of rose coloring expertly embedded inside the glass.

Very well made. The art glass decanter bottle is of thick blown colorless glass with a weighted base to prevent tipping. Three green buttons and a heavy green scarf are applied to the bottle. The head is hand-made with exceptional applied details.

The applied decor technique is in the style of Jaroslav Brychta, world renowned artist and instructor of the Zelezny Brod glass school in Czechoslovakia during the first half of the 1900’s. After the 1950’s the Brychta style of glass was made by Zelzno Brodske Sklo until the 1970’s.

Big bottle measures 8.5″ tall to top of head. Weighs 2.5 lbs. Stopper insert and bottle neck are ground to fit. Exceptional example of mid-century Czech figural glass. Circa 1930’s to 1970’s. Unsigned. In excellent condition.

Vintage Art Glass Goose Bluenique Figurine by Viking

This mid-20th century art glass goose was made by Viking Art Glass, original catalog part no. 1317. Made in the 1960’s to 1970’s, this particular form (reaching goose) is scarcely seen today, especially in Viking’s patented rich Bluenique color. Made by hand in West Virginia, mid-20th century USA. Rare Form, Rare Item.

It’s a big goose standing 13.5″ Tall. Solid vintage quality glass weighs 2 lbs. Mesmerizing deep blue color lightens and darkens according to the thickness of the glass.  The form was achieved by hand-manipulating mold blown glass.  A must have for your favorite fowl collector.

Re-purposed glass canister with solid Teak wood lid made during the first attempt to save the world’s resources.

Back in the 1970’s people were intent on saving our resources, developing solar energy, electric cars, recycling, etc. Unfortunately our corporations and politicians were not intent on making the necessary changes and nearly all of the efforts of the 1970’s fizzled out and were forgotten. Today we seem to be replaying the same story.

This big re-purposed glass canister was made out of a large bottle and has a beautiful solid wood lid. The wood is a light-weight rich Teak. Its vessel is a sheared re-purposed glass 4-liter bottle blown from a mold with markings on the base. Just as the bottle curves up, the words “4 Liters (135 fluid ounces)” are embossed on two sides.

Slight bottom-wear from surface contact over the years. Sits on a ridge of embossed diamonds which protects it from showing surface wear. Glass is in excellent condition. Lid shows just a tad of wear, no damage.

Big canister measures 8″ tall, 7″ at widest with a girth of 20.5″. Weighs 2.25 lbs.  Perfect for the kitchen and bar.  Unlimited uses.

Vintage Daisy and Button Pattern Glass Goblet

The Daisy and Button pattern was popular in the late 1800’s and has remained popular since.  Many glass makers of the past provided forms in this pattern.  This beautiful goblet is a vintage reproduction of the antique form.

Ruby red bowl bears the deeply pressed Daisy and Button pattern.  The light amber stem has an intentional trapped bubble, mimicking the appearance of antique glass when unintentional trapped bubbles within the glass were common.  It was made between 1950 and 1970.  Probably made by L.G. Wright Glass Co. or Kanawha in USA.

Measures 6 5/8″ tall.  In excellent condition. Made of heavy, good quality vintage glass. Fabulous, fun and usable vintage wine goblet. Doubles as a candle holder (always remove metal parts from modern candles before using in vintage glass).  Lovely on display with light shining through.

Antique Bohemian crystal from the mid 18th to early 19th century.  German style rhine wine goblets like this are called Roemers or Rummer. Exceptionally well made. Hand blown and engraved with a garland swag of detailed little roses. The ultra-marine green ringed conical crystal stem is applied to the engraved crystal bowl. The base of the stem is polished flat. The neck of the stem is decorated with 3 applied hand-made floral glass prunts. The rim of the bowl is also hand polished.

Roemer style wine goblets date way, way back in time. Original forms were made with German ‘Forest’ glass, a greenish, yellowish brown color resulting from the area’s wood and locally harvested glass ingredients. The beautiful deep, dark ultramarine color of the stem, the fine quality of the blown glass (produces a nice ‘ting’ when plinked), and the intricate rose etching suggest it was made for a special event like a wedding.

In excellent condition with fine lines of age related bottom-wear on the base ring. Stands 5½” tall.

Elegant early 20th Century antique crystal perfume decanter by Tiffin Glass, USA.

Tiffin antique crystal perfume bottle circa 1910’s-1930’s, part no. 5768. Made by hand. The foot is applied to the vessel. The finial is applied to the stopper. Glass has “straw marks” (evidence of old cooling methods) and tiny trapped air bubbles on the foot. There is one tiny air bubble inside the stopper finial.

The stopper has some flaking on the base (bottom of the dauber), but it is light and can’t be seen, and does not affect its purpose. The stopper neck and vessel neck are ground to fit.

The stopper is engraved with wide ovals and stippling. The body is engraved with vines and leaves. Stands 7.75″ tall. Makes an excellent gift accompanied by a nice bottle of fancy cologne.

Set of 6 tall crystal cocktail stems from the 1930’s/1940’s with cornflower etch.

Ultra elegant set of Libbey Rock Sharpe tall crystal cocktail stems. Libbey was one of the few American makers that producing crystal during the Depression years.

Stem and foot are molded, bowl was blown from mold and applied. The hand-tooled “Cornflower” etching is remarkable. Total of 12 cornflowers with foliage on each glass. Libbey offered Rock Sharpe crystal glassware with numerous different etched patterns. The patterns can be mixed and matched.

All in excellent condition. Stand 6″ tall, bowl is 3″ wide. Perfect for martinis and other chilled and strained confections. Will make impressive and elegant tall dessert dishes too. Weigh 1/2 lb each. 5.75″ tall, 3.25″ wide mouth.

Eye-catching 1950s mid-century Murano art glass.

The decor method is called Macchia in Italian. English translation is “stain” or “mark”. It was accomplished by applying drops of colored glass onto the surface of the hot glass which is then worked into the glass by hand to create the pattern.

Thick, chunky, hand-formed quality glass. The rims are folded down, the base is polished flat and when you look close you can see three heart outline shapes on the exterior glass added during the hot decorating process. This shape is an icon of mid-century studio decorative glass. It can be used as an ashtray, candy/nut bowl, flower float, catch-all, and/or candle holder. Measures 5.75″ at widest, 3.75″ tall and weighs 2.75 lbs.
