SOLD – Flower Power Hippie Era Tray Set
Set of 5 flower power snack trays by Takahashi, a Japanese made decor line selling through Gumps of San Francisco back in the 1960s. Three of the trays still retain the original Takahashi label on the base.
Three trays are in perfect condition. The orange tray shown has a couple of slight dings to the decor. The blue tray has a single ding on the lower right side.
They measure 7½” x 5½”. Great for snack trays at parties with fingerfoods. Multiple uses.

Sweet set of 4 retro flower garden mugs with orange wagon caddy. Made in Japan, estimated circa 1970s. Mugs appear unused, in like-new condition. Decor is 100% present, bright and shiny as the day they were made. The metal caddy is also in great condition with 100% orange enamel intact…no flakes.

Retro Mushroom Kitchen Canister Set Plus Napkin Holder
Set of Sears and Roebuck Retro Mushroom Kitchen Canister Set and napkin holder in like-new condition. Everybody loved mushrooms in the 1970s. It’s not often that we find mushroom decor relics of the era in complete unused sets, especially in kitchen products. But this full set of four canisters, including a napkin holder, are scarce examples in pristine condition.
Marked on the base ‘Sears and Roebuck, 1978, Japan’. Are you old enough to remember those massive Sears Roebuck catalogs? They were like archaic low tech precursers to internet shopping where one could find absolutely anything. Kids would anxiously await the Fall issue to assemble their Christmas lists, moms would mail order fashion, textiles and kitchen supplies, Dads would look for the latest tools and electronics, and little boys would keep a copy under the bed to peruse the Lingerie section in privacy.
In the 1970s, U.S. manufacturing was steadily declining and we imported most of our products from Japan. These were made in Japan of white ceramic with handpainted decor and offered exclusively through Sears and Roebuck.
Large flour size canister measures 11½” tall, 7½” wide at base with a widest circumference of 25″. Others measure 9½” tall, 6″ wide base; 8″ tall, 5: wide base; and smallest measures 6½” tall on a 4″ wide base. The napkin/bill holder measures 5″ tall, 5″ wide and 2″ thick. All in like-new condition.

Big, bad, angry rooster vintage brass figurine. Unmarked vintage brass, made in the 1940s. Scarce fighting cock figurine.
Large with great detail. Weighs 2 lbs. Measures 9″ long, 7.5″ wingspan, 5″ tall. In perfect condition. Light patina. Black accent was applied to provide depth. Striking figurine must have for the rooster collector. Heavy and large, can be used to support books, etc. Real eye-catcher.

$45.00Easter Toleware Tray Hand Painted with Victorian Hen on Eggs
This beautiful Easter Toleware Tray was painted by hand with a hen in a nanny hat sitting on a batch of decorated eggs. The tolework art is exceptional. The colors are bright and cheery. Has a 3-D effect with the eggs popping out. Lovely details. We are surprised the artist didn’t sign this special piece of art.
Condition looks perfect. Up close you can see miniscule scratches with the black stained background showing through. So minimal it looks like part of the design. On the base of the tray, a few spots of white paint and light surface wear. No surface wear on the top of the tray.
Measures 12½” square. The black stained wood is medium-weight hard wood, originally light in color. Type of wood is unknown. -

Original Delft tile made in Holland. Beautiful color and intricate detail of the famous Dutch windmill scene. Large sized trivit framed in Walnut wood with felt covered feet. Can be used as wall decor also.
It is marked on the back ‘G’ in a laurel wreath, numbered ‘224132’ and backstamped with a crown over the words ‘Handpainted Delfts Holland’. The tile is in excellent like-new condition. The wood frame is in good condition with just a bit of lacquer finish dulling appearing in areas where hands have lifted it over the years. Measures 9″ square. Circa 1970s.

Limoges Haute Vienne Liberated Woman 1965
Emancipated Brigette in mini-skirt by artist Fr Ganeau. This genuine Limoges Haute Vienne decorative plate was made in 1979 as a tribute to the Equal Rights Amendment that finally passed in 1972. Women have fought for equal rights since 1923!
The six page booklet that comes with it goes through the history of the woman’s movement and its famous fashion designers…and proudly announces the final emancipation of females in the United States. Well…apparently they thought it was settled.
The 3-page article states Courreges was the designer of Brigitte’s outfit you see on the plate. The mini-skirt, designed by Mary Quant, first appeared on the scene in the early 1960s. On the back cover is a sketch of another ‘fully coordinated ensemble” from the Courreges’ 1965 collection. It also mentions a Pierre Cardin ‘space age’ design complete with an astronaut helmet, the Yves St. Laurent transparent blouses and the Geinreich ‘monokini’ (topless bathing suit). It’s a long three page article full of fun fashion and woman’s movement facts.
Comes with a Limoges issued certificate of authenticity, six page booklet, quality control approval and original foam box with fleur de lis decor. All in like-new condition. Plate measures 8 1/2” round. Perfect condition.

Swedish modern stainless steel carving knive set marked ‘Mode Danish, Stainless Sheffield England’. Nice hardwood handles with burlwood type grain on this Danish Modern Cutlery Set. One measures 12½” long, the other is 11½” long.
In good condition with scratches visible on the metal blades. The handles are in excellent condition. The blades are serrated. Circa 1960s. Made in England in the Danish Modern style.

$65.00Crying Hound Vintage Redware Bank and Decanter
This pair of Crying Hound Vintage Redware Bank and Decanter are having a bad day. Both are crying, and the husband appears to have a hangover. Poor things. The female hound dog is a bank. The male hound dog is a decanter. Both in perfect shape, no damage. The original bank plug is missing. Otherwise they look as new as the day they were made sometime in the 1950’s.
The decanter has a ‘Made in Japan’ sticker on the base and the bank has an Enesco Imports sticker (one of the first American companies to import Japanese products after WWII). The male hound’s tear is of white enamel, but the female’s tear is a little fake pearl.
Decanter measures 10″ tall and 5″ at widest. The bank is 6½” tall and 3½ at widest. Perfect gift for those ‘in the dog house’, hound dog lovers and collectors of mid-20th Century Japan imports.

$95.00C Jere owl bookend signed RARE
This is a rare and wonderful original C Jere owl bookend made of brass. Just one bookend is available. Signed. Hard to read the date; it’s 1972 or 1978. It appears the previous owner tried to eradicate the signature!
According to Wikipedia: “C. Jeré is a compound pseudonym that was invented by the founders of Artisan House, Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels, to market their products. The company was founded in 1963 and distributed by Raymor. Freiler was the production chief and Fels was head of design. Their goal was to produce “gallery-quality art for the masses.” Kurt and Jerry sold Artisan House in 1972.”
Hard to find retro modern owl bookend. Measures 5.25″ tall, 4½” wide. In very good condition with the only signs of age on the brass book support on the backside. C. Jere artwork is reproduced today by contemporary companies. Vintage C. Jere signatures usually include a date.

$40.00Buffalo Bill Tall Handmade Vintage Brass Sculpture
Hong Kong’s version of Buffalo Bill in a detailed brass 14″ tall sculpture.
Each piece was cut and applied separately to build Buffalo Bill. The brass was artificially patinated to give it an aged appearance. During the past 36 years, real patina has developed over the artificial patina. The authentic patina is dull and even.
Big Bill is 14″ tall on a 6″ x 3½” wood base. Red velvet covering the seat of the base has shrunk with age. Sticker on the read velvet reads: ‘Made in Hong Kong – Enesco Imports Co’. In addition, the sculpture is permanently marked 1975 ‘Enesco Imports Co.’ on a metal plaque attached to the back.
Back in the good old days, the bulk of U.S. imports came from Hong Kong or Japan. Hong Kong belongs to China now, but it belonged to the UK from 1898 through the late 1990’s. Enesco is a U.S. importing company founded in 1958 in Itasca, IL. Enesco has imported bejillions of chachka type decor items through the years and is still in business today. This Buffalo Bill sculpture is very uncommon, first we’ve seen.
In good condition. The various holes, like the one in his hat, are purposeful. Has a ‘weathered’ look. Wood base is worn, but whole. Metal has no corrosion or damage.

Beautiful blue butterfly and cottage seen on an American made ceramic tile. Framed in teak wood.
In very good condition with only one small bump on the softwood frame. The wood is a reddish color, and the bump is nearly invisible. The tile is in like-new condition and is marked ‘Made in USA’.
Blue butterfly trivet measures 7½” square. Can be used as a trivet or wall decor.

Pretty blushing piglet with big eyes, rosy cheeks and adorned with flowers. Decor was applied by hand. In great condition with no problems. The big eye piggy bank is shiny and bright. Original cork has hardened a bit but is still whole.
No maker’s mark or country mark. Probably was imported from Japan. Made of porcelain. Measures 3” wide, 3.25” tall to top of cork. Dates to the 1950s.This little piggy has a large round opening instead of a coin slit like normal banks. Handy as it can be used to hide treasures larger than coins. Perfect gift filled with treasure for new baby or pig enthusiast.

Vintage Big Eye Lady Figurine ‘World’s Best Mother’ sculpture. Wildly popular in the 1960s-1970s. Came in a large variety of big-eye human cartoon forms with different sayings and were called ‘Sillisculps’.
Made by W & R Berries and Co. in the U.S.A. All were signed and dated. This proud mother is dated 1973. Extremely detailed. Made of resin with applied eyes. The felt on the base has shrunk with age, otherwise in perfect condition. Stands 6″ tall, base is 3″ square, weighs 1/2 lb.

Art Nouveau Style Patinated Owl Incense Burner
Hoot owl incense burner made in Japan in 1950s – 1960s.Highly detailed in an Art Nouveau style. Its feathers are detailed with ‘turkey tracks’. Its feet are a bit oversized with big claws. Its head turn in any direction. The smoke comes out through the holes in the wing, eyes and head. It’s a very unique styled owl with lots of allure.
Made of pantinated pot metal. Inside shows signs of burning incense. The old felt that covered its base has petrified a bit and shows lots of wear. Marked JAPAN on the inside ring of the head. Stands 3½” tall. In great condition with some signs of use on the interior. No damage to the metal or applied metal patination.

Unique 1930s Art Deco Saturn Brass base multi-candle holder. Fascinated with the planet Saturn, the folks living in the Art Deco period (1920 – 1940s) memorialized the ringed planet in popular decor. This seven holder table-top candelabra is a unique example.
Machined of solid brass, weighs 2.25 lbs. The stems and candle cups are interchangeable. Solid construction, well designed. There is no damage. Varying degrees of patina. No maker’s mark. Probably made in America.
It stands 7.25″ tall with a base width of 6″. The unit can be polished to like-new if the new owner desires.
