The Myrtlewood mirror candlestick holder is a wonderful addition to brighten a hallway or entryway.
This nice Myrtlewood mirror candlestick holder was made in Coos Bay, Oregon USA. The ‘House of Myrtlewood’ was established in 1929 and still in business today. The original stickers are still attached.
The holder is crafted from Myrtlewood (Umbellularia Californica). Myrtlewood is a member of the laurel family and is found only in a limited area along the southern Oregon and the northern California coast. It is a dense, finely grained broadleaf evergreen. This tree is peculiar from other evergreens due to its tiny white blossom that appears annually. The Myrtlewood tree grows slowly, making accessible old growth more scarce.
Finished with high-gloss lacquer, this Myrtlewood mirror candlestick holder is in like-new condition. It measures 15½” long, 7½” wide and fits standard-size taper candles. Estimated circa 1950 – 1980. Made in USA.

$195.00Retro Italian Toleware Ceiling Lamp from 1950’s
This retro modern Italian toleware ceiling lamp was discovered and removed from a kitchen in Colorado. The house was built in 1960. The lamp was original to the house. We removed it ourselves.
Since it had been hanging from the same ceiling for 51 years, it did not suffer the damage and wear normally found on mid-century Italian toleware objects. It was incredibly dirty, OMG. Removing the years of kitchen grease, dust, and petrified bugs, revealed very well-preserved toleware. There are pinholes and flakes in the white enamel paint, as shown in images below, easily remedied. The green paint is 100%. No corrosion or missing metal. Real nice.
One white ball lamp cover is original and it is made of hard unmarred plastic. The other two glass ball covers covers were replacements sometime in the past. All of the screws are white-capped and original. The copper wiring is original and in working condition. The Underwriters Labratory label is yellow and reads: ‘Cerama Inc. 1, Listed Electric Fixture Issue No. D-9759’.
Measures 19″ long on each of three sides. Stands 12½” tall. This is a beautiful understated mid-century modern Italian toleware ceiling lamp. Most 1950 – 1960’s toleware items from Italy lean to the ‘overstated’ side as was the fashion back then.
Bright and cheery for the kitchen or garden room.

$45.00Retro Authentic 1950’s Poodle Desk Accessory
This iconic 1950’s Poodle Desk Accessory is in unused, perfect condition.
The poodle form was so popular in the 1950’s, its likeness was used as décor on everything from clothing to knick-knacks. The poodle desk accessory collection like this came in bookends, letter holders, letter openers, pen holders and pin dishes. This perfect poodle is a letter holder. It appears unused.
Made in Japan of red-ware pottery with hand enameled décor over 60 years ago, but it appears as bright and perfect as the day it was imported to America from our new trading partner. The glaze is perfect, the face colors are whole and bright, the gold enamel is whole, the metal is like-new. No chips or cracks.
Marked “Japan” by hand in gold enamel on the base. You can see the red ware pottery near the Japan mark in image 6 as reddish streaks showing through the shallow base glaze. Red-ware is an organic pottery made of red clay from the earth. There is light bottom-wear from years of surface contact on the base.
The poodle’s coif-fer on the top of the head is a hollow small bowl, for clips or such. The tail can hold a pen. Measures 6″ tall, 6″ long, and 2″ wide.

$20.00Retro Atomic Decor Lucite Serving Utensils
Lucite serving utensils are made from the miraculous plastic like substance called ‘Lucite’. It was invented in 1931 by DuPont and used at first for war purposes. In the late 1940’s Lucite was used to fashion adornments for the ‘fast’ ladies of the time. From the late 1940’s to 1970’s, Lucite was wildly popular and could be found in all forms imaginable.
This set of yellow Lucite serving utensils has been embellished with 1000’s of bubbles and jewel-like inclusions . They have a distinctive Atomic era styling and probably date to the mid 1950’s to early 1960’s.
The serving fork and spoon measure 14″ long and are in perfect condition. Made in USA.

Vintage Haeger pottery in excellent condition. This Haeger spittoon vase is in their mission style decor on natural unglazed pottery. The shape is organic free-form design.
A very unusual vintage Haeger item – circa 1960’s to 1970’s. Measures 9.5″ at widest, 6.5″ tall. Made in USA.
Haeger Potteries began in 1871 and through four generations, moved into the 21st Century. The Haeger spittoon vase is signed on bottom in Haeger’s mid-20th century font ‘Haeger 3178 USA’.

$40.00Pair of Vintage Couroc Inlaid Wood and Brass Butterfly Dishes
Couroc plate and bowl made of satin black Phenolic, impervious to alcohol and boiling water (according to the stickers on the seats). Phenolic is a very durable, nice looking resin which pool balls are made of.
Couroc formed this resin into beautiful decorative objects. The inlay was done by hand using woods, metals, shells and coins. Then it was fused it into the phenolic. It was a great product, the inlaid decor will stay in these inlaid wood and brass butterfly dishes for at least a million years…really… it will never degrade. The butterflies were inlaid with wood, shell and brass.
Signs of wear include some very unobservable scratches, and some patina formed on the brass. The patina can be cleaned off to produce bright and shiny brass, but most people like to keep the patina intact.
The Couroc brass and butterfly dishes include a bowl and a plate. The bowl measures 8″ round, 1½” tall. The plate has four molded-in little feet and measures 8½” square and ½” tall. Both retain original stickers. Made in USA.

Retro Kitchen Mushroom Decor Pyrex Cutting Board
Retro kitchen mushroom decor cutting board from the 1970’s.
This retro kitchen mushroom cutting board is in great condition. It is made of pyrex glass with a mini-bumpy surface texture. The graphic art mushroom decor is beneath the surface of the glass. Supported by 4 rubber feet, the board stays in place. Although the rubber feet have ‘slipped’ a bit over the years (see image 2), they are still firmly intact and have done a great job protecting the artwork from getting scratched from beneath. The art is whole, no damage. The glass, amazingly, has no scratches and no chips or cracks.
The super vintage quality retro kitchen mushroom cutting board measures 15″ x 12″ and weighs 3 lbs.

Retro Modern 1960’s Tall Ceramic Poodles Like New Condition
Retro modern 1960’s tall ceramic poodles in like new condition.
These white, very tall ceramic poodles are an exceptional pair. The male measures 14 1/2″ tall. He sports a blue jewel on his color. The female is 12 1/2″ tall and is wearing a pair of pearl earrings. The only sign of wear is a bit of rubbing on their black painted noses.
Poodle décor gained popularity in the 1950’s and lasted until the end of the 1960’s. Here we have a stylized ‘hip’ pair of poodles. Rarely seen today in such good condition.
These tall ceramic poodles are made of porcelain and finished in a satin white glaze. Each is hand painted enamel details. Marked ‘Made in USA’ on the bases.

Retro Vintage Pottery Hanging Owl Chime
Unique handmade pottery hanging owl chime. Most of these have fallen from their perch and broke within the last 40 years. We’ve never seen another like it.
No maker’s mark. Made of heavy, thick-walled porcelain. Circa 1970s. Measures 5½ tall, 5½” wide and 4″ thick. Chime is attached via twine which is pulled through the body and ends in a loop for hanging.
In perfect condition. Weighs 1½ lbs. Glazed with mottled browns, oranges, greens.

Retro Modern Mushroom Decor Mug
This is the only mushroom decor mug we’ve found featuring this fabulous hippie mushroom and butterfly décor. We had hoped to find matching cups, but in 5 years we’ve not seen another.
It’s new and bright as the day it was made sometime in the 1960’s to early 1970’s. It’s marked on the base “Japan” and numbered ‘050032’. Stands 3.5” tall. In perfect condition.

Large artificially patinated vintage brass owl sculpture made in the infamous ‘C Jere’ style. It is not a C. Jere design. Label on base reads ‘Made in Hong Kong’.
Measures 14½” tall on 6″ x 4″ wood base. In perfect condition. Base once had felt bumpers which are gone now. This tree owl figurine was made in the 1960’s-1970’s when owl decor was at the height of popularity.

Retro Modern Copper Guild Owl bank
Ultra modern copper guild owl bank made by the Copper Guild of Massachusetts U.S.A. in the 1970’s. Made of copper and brass with glass eyes. In like-new condition with original Coppercraft sticker. Measures 4″ tall on a 3″ wide base. Small screw on the side of the brass base allows for the base to be removed for coin retrieval.
In the 1970’s women held Coppercraft Guild Parties. Home based parties for Tupperware, Avon, Princess House and more were all the rage as women explored ways to supplement the household incomes. This mod owl was originally purchased from such a ‘party’. Great condition, appears unused.

Retro Mod Orange Flower Napkin Holder
If you’ve watched ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ you’ve seen this mod Lucite flower napkin holder gracing Raymond’s mom’s kitchen table. The set designer uses original 1960’s – 1970’s décor for the set of her home.
It’s made of thick resin, very ‘modern’ and popular back then. It is beautiful the way light shines through it, it literally lights it up. In perfect condition with original label. Sticker reads ‘Napkin or Letter Holder – Handmade from glass-like resin – Original design by New Trends Industries – Copyright MCMLXIX – Made in the U.S.A.’ The Roman numerals translate to 1969. Very useable, these don’t damage easily. Perfect for the sunny kitchen table.

Five cent slot machine music box plays “Luck be a Lady Tonight”. Made of artificially patinated metal in the 1970’s to early 1980’s. Sticker below the ‘arm’ gives the name of the song title and reads ‘Made in Hong Kong’.
In good condition. A few scratches can be seen if you look closely. Has obviously been on open display all these years and took a great deal of detailing to come clean. Had tiny spots of white paint which were removed.
The ‘wheel’ and ‘arm’ rotate as it plays. You can barely see the outline and form of the bars and fruit. Coins are in the glory hole. Unusual form, probably of an early make. Measures 6″ tall x 4″ wide x 3″ thick.

Mushroom Kitchen Decor Signed X Pottery Loaf Pan
Beautiful vintage mushroom kitchen decor art pottery loaf pan. The base has three tick-marks and a hand applied “X” makers mark beneath the glaze. We do not know which art pottery maker used the ‘X’ mark. Possibly English or Italian.
The glaze is ‘bread’ colored, a light yellowish/white with darker edges. Measures 13” long, 6” wide, 3” tall and weighs 3 lbs. Thick walled and heavy weight. In perfect condition. Estimated circa 1930’s – 1950’s.

Mirro Aluminum Canister Set in Wonderful Condition 1950
Well-preserved early 1950’s Mirro aluminum canister set in light metallic pink with copper -like interior.
Stamped into the base of each is “Mirro – The Finest aluminum made in the USA”. Both color finishes are still bright and look near new. The lid knobs are made of a light hardwood, perhaps oak. The knobs show their age a bit, but are whole and sturdy. A ring of bottom-wear is found on each base. This is caused by years of surface contact and is expected.
Each is marked with a part no. and capacity. The largest is a 4 quart, next is a 3 quart, then a 2 quart, and the smallest is a 1.5 quart.
Perfect for the retro techno kitchen. Beautiful set in rare condition.

$40.00Mid-Century Modern Turned Wood Shakers
Beautiful set of turned wood shakers. The wood is light-weight and soft. The grain appears to be oak, but the tell-tale sign of teakwood (reddish color) can be seen on the base of one shaker where a tiny piece has slivered off. They really do look like stained oak, but we are certain it is not oak. Another possiblility could be ‘redwood’, but again, this wood is very light-weight.
Masterfully done by hand and machine. Topped with mushroom caps. In beautiful condition, still rich in color and no scratching or staining. A small bump at the base is present but not noticeable. They appear unused.
One shaker is missing it’s cork. It busted up as we were removing it. The shaker on the right has it’s original cork which we removed successfully but it’s so hard from age it is liable to bust up soon. The corks are a standard size, and we’ll include a couple of new corks for the new owner. Each measures 7.75″ tall. Circa 1960’s.

Medieval Inkpot Inkwell With Engraving And War Wound
Monastery type medieval cauldron inkpot inkwell with bird and fauna etching. This fascinating pot tickles the imagination. Is that an axe/sword impact shown in image 2? A sharp indent on hard metal like this doesn’t happen from a mere fall. The chop mark did not breach the vessel, but the stress of the impact caused a thin small crack just above it to the right.
It has rich brown uniform patina. The age patina developed AFTER the axe mark. No corrosion. The interior is lined with remnants of shiny black ink.
Medieval inkpot like this were used by scribes and Monks to copy the Bible and other important documents during the middle-ages. Was this pot sitting next to a monk who lost his head during Henry VIII’s attack on the monasteries in the 1500s? Is it Islamic? Alas, it’s history is unknown.
Decorated by hand featuring four birds with plume crowns surrounded by foliage and bordered by slanted dashes. An ordinary scribe’s inkpot was unadorned. This is a fancy inkpot. Measures 2½” tall with a widest girth of 7″. Weighs 1/2 lb.

$50.00Retro Vintage Oak Centerpiece with Inlaid Tile – Large
Beautiful huge 15½” round retro vintage centerpiece trivet made in the 1970s or earlier. We’ve dated this piece via identifying an exact look-a-like shown on a scary Christmas episode of Tales From the Crypt starring Joan Collins in 1972. An insane Santa kills her in the same living room in which she has just killed her husband. On the table, beneath a large white vase, sits a centerpiece trivet just like this one. lol.
This is a very large centerpiece trivet meant to be part of a decor focal point. It was hand-made with solid oak and hundreds of hand-placed inlaid tiles. The base has three sturdy rubber feet that elevate it ½” above the surface and protect the furniture beneath it.
It’s in great condition. All the tiles are present and snug. The wood is whole. Some scratching to the varnish is seen on the center wood ring. The rim shows a bit of staining, slightly darker than the wood, on one area where it looks like moisture sat. Measures 15½” round, weighs 4½ lbs.

Mushroom Party Platter perfect for parties. Incredible find in great condition. Huge, measures 16” round. Flower power mushroom décor is laminated wood and in bright, nearly unmarred condition. It has a few tiny scratches you can see when studying it closely, and one discoloration spot on the stem of the far right mushroom.
The black laminate on the base shows age wear but no damage. Lots of bottom-wear scratches. It has a label which was protected by tape. If the tape is peeled off, the label will come off. Label reads ‘Made in Japan – Takahasi – San Francisco 94103’. Probably imported by the then and now famous upscale department store “Gumps” in San Francisco. A mushroom rarity. Perfect gift for your favorite mushroom collector.

$95.00Jere style Owl Music Box Fly Me To The Moon – Large
Wonderful big-eyed fluffy feathered Jere Style Owl Music Box in patinated brass. Old sticker on base reads: “YIP Made in Hong Kong”. The sticker states the music is “Strangers in the Night”. When found the music box was not functioning. The mechanism was replaced and it is now functioning perfectly…but plays “Fly me to the Moon” instead. The owl rotates as the music plays. Turning the owl in the opposite direction will wind the music box.
Rare to find with music box working and still attached. Examples we’ve seen included the owl only, detached from the music box, and claimed to be a C. Jere design. It is not a C. Jere design, but does emulate his style.
Made in the 1960s – 1970s. In perfect repaired condition. Made of artificially patinated cut metal. Big, measures 10½” tall, 6″ at widest.

$40.00Vintage Italian Tile Mushroom Decor Trivet or Wall Art
Retro kitchen Italian Tile mushroom decor trivet or wall art made in Italy. The large tile is marked extensively by the maker, but were unable to identify the marks. The information is out there somewhere, but certainly not easy to find. Will update as we learn more. Besides the register marks and the studio mark, it says ‘Made in Italy’.
Framed in Teak wood. The style of mushroom decor and the Teak wood lead us to believe this item is probably from the 1960’s – 1970’s, could be older.
In great condition with a few tiny bump marks on the frame. The beautiful tile is in excellent condition. Measures 9″ x 9″ square, 1″ thick. -

Mid-Century era huge divided party server tray in sturdy, long-lasting pressed fiberware laminating a colorful fruit textile. Detachable metal divider provides 3 sections and the prongs for holding the dip bowl above the surface. The fiberware is bright and cheery as the day it was made. Smooth and shiny with no damage. Great sturdy bowl that has held up for 50 years and will continue to do so.
The brass plated metal divider shows it’s age with darkened areas throughout. No other signs of age. Circa 1950s – 1960s. Lightweight, huge and durable. Measures 17″ wide. The dip bowl is 6½” wide, 2″ tall. Perfect for picnics, pool parties, Tiki parties, beach parties…..

Mid-century modern angel figurines signed and dated; Hermann 1972 Large Ceramic Angels. Big beautiful retro angels in the 1970s Big Eye décor style. Signed and dated on the base. Each weigh 2 lbs and stand 11.5″ tall, 7.5″ at widest point. Large and impressive. Perfect focal décor for your Christmas display.
In very good condition with minor glaze surface flake nicks that can be seen as tiny white dots in the images below. The glaze flakes can be easily covered up with gold paint or ink. There are no chips or cracks. The glaze is lustrous and bright.

Hagenauer Wiener Werkstatte Egyptian Goddess Bronze Sculpture
This strange and alluring sculpture is of the Egyptian Goddess Anuket. Hagenauer Wiener Werkstatte has a more famous sculpture of Anuket that looks exactly like this except Anuket is wearing her headdress of feathers, and usually a bird sits upon her high hand. In this sculpture Anuket no longer holds the bird, and her head and headdress is replaced with a bird’s head. We have not found another like it.
Egyptian mythology confirms that Anuket was often portrayed with a bird head. In addition, there are three parallel lines on her neck which represent a bird goddess. Anuket is a Goddess of the Nile, her outstretched arms represent the two Nile tributaries and her body represents the flowing Nile. She is also a bird Goddess.
This sculpture is unsigned. Some Hagenauer objects were not signed. Most of his sculpture originally came with wood or metal bases which over time became separated, this could be the reason for the absent Hagenauer Werkstätte mark. Looking at the base of this sculpture we see that it may have been a hood ornament.
The artist Karl Hagenauer (b. 1898 d. 1956) is famous for his Art Nouveau metal work from the Austrian studio Wiener Werkstätte / Werkstaette founded by his father “Carl” Hagenauer in Austria, 1898.
This rare sculpture stands 11.25″ tall. Overall brownish patina, with dark spots on the base and beneath the rear-end. No damage. Completely hand-made. The base is attached with a screw and is easily removable.
