Description
Jeannette Glass Wedgwood Ice Bucket Neoclassic Style
Neoclassic Jeannette Glass Wedgwood ice bucket. In near-new condition. Circa 1950’s. Gold rim is 98% present. Rare to find with such little wear. The ‘ice bucket’ was often used for many other things, including planters, so antique or vintage ice buckets usually have a lot of wear.
Made by Jeannette Glass in the 1950’s. Designed to compliment Blue Jasperware (porcelain) dinnerware by Wedgwood from the same era. This color was called Corinthian blue by Jeannette. Neoclassic decor, a revival of ancient Greek and Roman styles, was popular in the 1950’s.
Jeannette Glass is famous for early Depression glassware and continued production through post Modernism. A U.S. factory, it closed it’s doors in 1983. Made of thick, quality glass. Measures 5″ tall, 5½” wide and weighs 2½ lbs. [color-box]More About Jeannette Glass[/color-box]
