Vintage Leaf Serving Dishes
Peach Lustre Vintage Leaf Serving Dishes. Circa 1940’s-1950’s.
The iridescent carnival glass of these occasional dishes is in peach lustre from the early 1950’s. An exceptionally well preserved find, it is unusual for a lustre item from the days of Lucille Ball to still retain it’s brilliant glow. The bridge party sets were used for snacks at card games. They were also used as ashtrays as extinguishing a stub will not harm the surface.
These items should NEVER be washed in a dishwasher. Never use harsh chemicals (like Windex or detergent) on them. Always wash by soaking in warm, mild sudsy water, gently wiping clean, rinse thoroughly and gently drying. Taking special care of these old Bridge party sets will guarantee the like-new finish will remain another 60 or so years.
The tray leaves are 6.25″ long, 4″ wide and 1/2″ tall. The holder/server is 11″ long, 4.5″ wide and 1.25″ tall. The set weighs 2.5 lbs. The six leaf dishes fit nicely into the large leaf holder.
