$115.00Large Victorian Glass Footed Table Bowl
Victorian glass centerpiece bowl in the Reverse Torpedo, also called Bulls-Eye and Diamond Point, circa 1891. The pattern was made in an extended table service of many forms but it is a challenging and scarce pattern to collect. It was produced by Dalzell, Gilmore & Leighton (pattern no. 49), early fore bearers of the pressed glass industry in the USA.
Near the end of the Victorian Era, pressed glass was a partially automated process overcoming the high cost of household glass and making it available to a broader market. Beautiful bowls like this graced many a Victorian home.
Glass over 70 years old is officially considered antique. Normal antique age is 100 years or older. Glass gets 30 years off because of it’s high rate of breakage. This old beauty is about 120 years old and in very fine condition. There are no chips or cracks, the glass is clean and brilliant with no signs of purpling. The base bears a solid ring of bottom-wear, appropriate for its age and weight.
Made with thick high clarity glass. The pattern is deep and 3-dimensional. The base and bowl were made separately and applied with molten glass. The ruffle rim was hand-tooled and heat-polished. Stands 9″ tall with an 11″ x 8″ oval bowl. Weighs just under 4 lbs.

Antique French Scent Bottles Set of 4 Documented Maltese Cross
Set of 4 antique French scent bottles. One bottle has a Maltese Cross stopper. This bottle is shown on page 207 of Miller’s Glass Buyer’s Guide by Jeanette Hayhurst, published in 2001. The buyer’s guide value of the 2″ taller Maltese Cross bottle shown was approximately $200.00 and dated to 1900 (see image 7).
The caption beneath the color photo in the buyer’s guide reads: “A French glass scent bottle, the stopper in the shape of a Maltese cross. circa 1900”. The other three perfume bottles are made in the same method but in a darker shade of blue. They also date to the early 1900’s and are of French make. Probably by Baccarat. No maker marks. Baccarat did not mark their products with the acid etch until 1936.
Hand-made of thick cut and polished blue leaded glass. All stoppers are original and ground to fit. All are clean inside and out. (dust seen inside one bottle in images has been removed).
Round facet cut bottle measures 2.25″ tall, The two tallest measure approx. 3.5″ tall (hand-made size differs slightly), and the Maltese Cross bottle is 3.25″ tall.
Three are in excellent condition, including the Maltese stoppered bottle. One of the taller matching ridged bottles has an eighth of an inch chip on the rim seen in image 6. The beautiful small facet cut scent bottle with matching stopper looks like a jewel. All are beautiful and perfect for vanity decor and use. Offering as a st of four.
