$160.00Very large spangled glass goblet hand-blown in amber, black and laden with gold.
This vintage or antique hand-crafted art glass ceremonial goblet is made with high quality crystal and weighs 3½ pounds. Stands 11¼” tall with a 8″ wide bowl.
The blown bowl is made with black crystal and heavy gold or copper aventurine or ‘spangle’ embedded within the glass. The applied hand-worked stem is made with amber crystal loaded with aventurine. The applied foot is in amber crystal.
Exceptional and unusual oversize art glass goblet. Made of quality colored crystal. Rings like a bell. Because real crystal, made with lead, is rarely used today we believe this beautiful creation is of at least vintage age. The rich decor of ample aventurine is also not made much today.
The base of the foot has very little bottom-wear. We expect to see at least medium bottom-wear on heavy vintage glass items, but this goblet’s base was protected, or rarely moved.
It has the Venetian/Murano glass appeal and feel, but may be American blown spangled glass. Hobbs Brockunier made some hand-blown items with the same colors and decor, but that was back in the mid-1800’s.
Large highly designed art glass goblets forms like this were used as ceremonial goblets. This stunner is a stand-alone decor eye-grabber. Would look beautiful with a artificial draping plant or floral in the cup.
In great condition. Glass is free of water stains. Shines brilliantly. The hand-polished rim of the bowl has one nick that can be felt when running a finger around the rim. It’s so slight that it cannot be seen or imaged, but can be felt.
Maker and age unknown at this time. Estimated circa 1850 to 1960.

Measures 4½” long, 3½” tall and weighs 1.4 lbs. Pink bubbly glass encased in crystal with applied black eyes. Maker and age unknown.
Date and maker unknown. Possibly Czech glass, mid to post 20th century.
She’s a chubby little hog in perfect condition. Great gift for your favorite little hog!

$155.00Large Murano art glass paperweight in millefiori (Thousand Flowers in Italian) with a velvety satin finish.
Densely packed millefiori over a colorless interior. The interior can be seen only from the base. The canes are well-made (hand-made) with many colors featuring a single cane that differs than the others. It may be a signature cane. See image 2 lower left. The cane has a white background with black center trimmed with red loops.
Many famous Italian artists created millefiori glass objects. Our first guess of maker for this paperweight would be Toso, made for export (import to U.S.).
Big pedestal paperweight weighs 1.6 lbs., measures 4″ tall and 3½” at widest. 9½” circumference on top. Dates to the 1950’s to 1960’s, could be older.

$190.00Iconic Dino Martens Oriente design oval cased art glass bowl in excellent condition.
According to the book “Venetian Art Glass” by Marino Barovier, the Oriente decor (designed by Dino Martens) was made infamous at the XXVI Biennale di Venezia in 1952 when it received widespread recognition. At the time, Dino (originally known as Corrado Martens) was free-lancing for Aureliano Toso’s glassworks in Italy. Since then the highly sought after polychrome and aventurine mottled decor was expanded to include many more models. Aureliano’s son, Fratelli Toso carried the line onward.
The original Dino Martens items included graphics accomplished with zanfirico and reticello rods inserted, resulting in grids and abstract faces and/or flowers. The original design was cased in thick colorless glass.
This bowl uses all the correct colors and gold aventurine of the original design but does not have the linear graphics. It is cased in white (lattimo) glass. We believe this piece may have been made by Fratelli Toso glass-works in the late 1960’s to 1970’s.
In excellent condition. Measures 10″ x 9″ oval, 2½” tall. Weighs nearly 3 lbs. Multiple uses; flowers, candy, dip, catch-all, cigar ashtray, etc.

$95.00Handmade vintage Murano art glass owl with green millefiori eyes.
Mid-20th century Italian made owl figurine possibly by Franco Moretti. Certainly vintage Murano glass by one of the fine glass makers of the time.
Quality multi-color glass layered by hand and encased with crystal. Inner layer of colorless glass is cased with Lattimo (milk glass) providing opacity. The Lattimo layer is cased with the colored mottled glass. The owl’s body has silver leaf in the colored glass layer and expertly controlled bubbles inside the red glass head. The green millefiori eyes and colorless beak were applied. The figurine is solid glass, not hollow.
In excellent condition. Big owl figurine stands 5″ tall, 3″ at widest and weighs 1.6 lbs.

$65.00Vintage Muranese Art Glass Hand Blown Stoppered Jug and Handled Bowl by Rainbow
Mid 1950’s art glass hand blown vessels for the vanity or table. Beautiful set by Rainbow Art Glass made in the USA.
Both were blown by hand with mottled white decor. The mottled decor combined with the style of the form was called ‘Muranese’ (Murano style), according to distributor ‘Belknap’ in their 1955 catalog, see image.
The jug/cruet has its original, fitted double-ball stopper. The dual handled urn is a scarce item, rarely seen today. The urn is slightly darker in color than the jug due to old-fashioned methods of mixing glass colors (by hand). Different batches of the same color often had slightly different tones.
Pontil scars from the glassblower’s punty on the base. Image 5 includes a large cobalt blue goblet to help show size and color.
Both in excellent condition. The jug measures 6″ tall. The urn is 3.25″tall and 4.25″ wide from handle to handle. The stoppered jug part no. was 781, and it came in six different fab shapes. Great fun to collect all shapes. The two-handled pot hasn’t been spotted in reference material.

$400.00Antique Venetian hand blown glass pitcher jug and four flute goblets.
Exquisite antique Venetian mouth blown glass by a master of the craft. Estimated circa; early 1900’s. We have not identified it yet, but have many clues. We are certain this set is not of modern make. The shape and decor have a story to tell.
The set of four goblets and pitcher and appears to be from the late 19th to early 20th century Italy. The style and form were revived from ancient glass examples excavated during the Renaissance by great maestros of glass in the 1700 and 1800’s whose names and achievements still live on today.
The large antique Venetian pitcher and goblets were mouth blown in a slightly iridescent, very light airy green. The light green glass lights up neon green under black-light, indicating the presence of Manganese or Uranium.
The pitcher leans forward, as in ancient days. This feature assisted the hostess or servants while tipping the large pitcher for service. This pitcher should always be lifted in this manner to avoid damage to the handle.
The mottled plum base and stretch satin handle are hand-formed, each with a different decor style, and applied to the pitcher’s body. The inverted dome feet/bases are mottled clear and plum glass with folded up rims. Pontil scars located on inner domed feet are slightly rough. The goblet rims are folded up. The hand drawn and stretched handle is in mottled plum and clear glass with added decor of fumed iridescence. It’s as soft as velvet and shimmers and shines.
A tiny chunk of coal from the glass furnace is trapped within this vessel’s handle (see image). Coal from an old fashioned furnace trapped within the glass is a sure sign of age.
A double wafer knop is applied to base and vessel, joining the two. The large handle is applied. It hoops well above the body. This large jug is meant to be held with two hands. One hand on the handle, the other flat out on the opposite side on the body.
It is in wonderful shape with no cracks or chips or liquid damage. The pitcher is perfect. The goblets have very slight minimal scratching on the interior probably due to stir sticks.
Pitcher is 10″ tall, 6.5″ at widest with a widest girth of 19″. Pitcher’s foot is 5.25″ wide. The four flute goblets measure 6″ tall, mouth opening width of 3.75″ and foot width of 3.25″. Large tumblers – full-sized. Set includes one large pitcher and FOUR large fluted goblets. Sparkling clean.

$370.00Big hand blown art glass vase set with exterior polychrome and aventurine murrina décor.
Mysterious hand blown art glass vase set. We are unable to identify the maker or the era at this time. The only decor match we’ve found was described as “vasa Murrhina”, but it was on a vase from the first century A.D. This unique pair of vases are not from the first century. They were probably made in the 1940’s-1960’s.
They could be mid-century Italian/Murano/Venetian: Pezzato (Venini), Mosaica (Vistosi/Toso) or AVEM (Dino Martens). This high quality hand blown art glass vase set was certainly made by a master of the craft. Estimated circa 1920 – 1960.
The exterior décor process is called “Roll Up” or “laminated”. Colorful sheets of glass produced with kiln-fusing are rolled over the blown vessel, then attached to a blow pipe and blown again. It involves warm, hot, and cold methods all in unison. Very difficult to achieve.
The inner glass is blown cobalt blue (image 7). The laminated layer is not cased in clear as usually seen, it is the outer layer. Surface is textured. Multiple images included here due to difficulty in capturing the intense beauty of the vases. The laminate colors are blue, yellow, and copper aventurine. The laminate is wrapped over the vase openings which creates a stunning decor effect.
The vases are large and heavy. Measure 9.25 & 9.5″ tall, Weigh 3.75 lbs each. Slightly different height and shape on each is due the hand blowing process. Interesting soft form bullet shapes. Both in excellent condition with roughly ground pontil marks.

$225.00Highly Stylized Cased Glass Jug With Metallic Filaments Circa 1935
Made in the method of Crepuscolo glass. Quality hand blown cased art glass internally decorated with metallic strands and particles.
Crepuscolo is an Italian glass decor technique using steel or copper wool. The word ‘Crepuscolo’ means ‘dusk’ or ‘twilight’ in Italian. Crepuscolo glass technique was invented (or rediscovered) by Ercole Barovier (Murano, 1889-1974; Italian Glass Master). In the Barovier examples we’ve seen, the metallic strands are more pronounced and ‘wirey’. The same technique was used with this pitcher.
Inner layer is solid black glass, decor is greenish gold metal mesh and strands, cased in clear with applied blown handle. The combined decor techniques make this art glass pitcher appear to be highly polished black granite. We believe the metal is copper, with a greenish tint due to age of copper used, or more likely the black glass layer behind it.
Requires two hands to pour because it is heavy; one hand holding the handle, the other under the base. The handle is strong, very usable as a beverage pitcher or a vase. White spots in images are light reflections. Makes a striking floral vase too.
Big, full-sized pitcher, weighs 5 lbs. Measures 10″ tall and 9″ at widest. In excellent condition. Art Deco era styling and Crespuscolo glass decor suggest it was made in the 1930’s to 1940’s. Probably of Italian descent. Unmarked.
