Mid-Century Organic Crystal Fish Dish

Mid-Century Organic fish dish from Kosta Glassworks, Sweden. Signed with hand etched Kosta LP1343. The four digit number dates it to the late 1950s. Designed in 1958 by Vicke Lindstrand (1904-1983). Lindstrand was the Artistic Director with Kosta between 1950 and 1972. Before Kosta, he worked with Orrefors and the Upsala-Ekeby ceramics company.

This awesome solid lead crystal dish is decorated with precise, 3-level intentional bubbles. The bubbles are 3 dimensional, placed in different depths throughout the glass. It is a wonderful effect, very, very hard to do. The Scandinavian fish was hand-formed with heavy, excellent quality lead crystal. Beautiful upscale art glass made during the Swedish Modern and Organic decor crazes of the mid 20th century.

It is 8.75″ long, 3.5″ at widest, 2.5″ at tall, and weighs 1.75 lbs. Great for service, candles, catch-all, incense, looks stunning with flowers.
