Huge Vintage Wall Art Fork Knife & Spoon in Carved Rosewood RARE
This set of huge vintage wall art fork, knife and spoon was hand-carved from wood that appears to be rosewood. Rare to find a complete set like this.
Usually carved from Teak wood, these giant utensil wall decors were popular in the 1950’s to 1960’s. This set was not carved from Teak, it looks like Rosewood.
Today we find the big forks and spoons occasionally, but NEVER have we seen the knife. We muse about the missing knives as victims of little boys using them as swords. Don’t really know why the giant knives are all but gone, but happy to see they actually existed!
Each giant utensil measures 27″ long, 3¾ wide and about 1″ thick. Detailed deep rose carving was done by hand. Maker unknown, but probably came from an exotic island somewhere.
They are all in good condition. No cracks, splitting or chips off the wood. As you can see in the images, there are areas where the lacquer has been bumped, showing lighter spots. These areas are easily repaired by furniture polish. We tested a spot or two and once polish is applied the color difference disappears.
Perfect for the unique kitchen or restaurant decor!
