Danish Modern Jacob Bang Hyacinth Vase by Holmegaard with Sticker
Vintage Danish glass bulb forcing vase by Jacob Bang. Holmegaard is a very old glassmaking company in Denmark. Jacob Bang designed for Holmegaard from beginning in 1925, creating predominantly smoke colored or colorless glassware.
The label was removed from the vase and taped onto the seat of the base. This is a great way to preserve the label and make use of the glass. The tape is old and has shrunk back, but the label is preserved. The label dates to the 1930’s.
This hyacinth vase was blown from an optic panel mold. Inverted base shows tooling near the pontil mark. Rim is heat finished and polished. Medium bottom wear (expected shelf scratches on the seat of the base caused by years of sitting around).
In excellent condition. Smoke blue glass is clean and brilliant. Measures 5″ tall with a 3.5″ wide mouth. Meant as a bulb forcing vase, can be used as a cut flower vase too.
