Set of 3 Fostoria American Elegant Glass High Toppers

Description

Set of three ‘High Topper’ hat accessories by Fostoria Glass. These fancy elegant glass forms were made as smoking accessories but also make beautiful vases, candy/nut dishes, candle holder, bar accessories, etc.

Made between 1940 and 1958. In the famous ‘American’ pattern. The prolific American pattern can be found in all forms of table and home decor glass. Quality crystal by one of America’s favorite elegant glass makers of the mid-20th century. Highly polished, no mold lines.

Note: Remove all metal parts of modern candles before using with vintage glass.

Set Includes (1) small (Fostoria part number SS334) Topper hat for snuffer, matchsticks or other paraphernalia; (1) medium High Topper hat (SS336), 3″ tall, for holding cigarettes, etc.; and (1) 4″ tall High Topper (SS337) for cigars, etc..

Large High Topper has a faint hint of purple, caused by exposure to Ultra-Violet light over many, many years. It’s called ‘Sun Purple’. Sun Purple, if attained naturally, is not damage. Artificially induced purpling is damage.  Artificial purpling is easy to spot, it’s overly purple.  Sun Purple is a light shade of purple.

The large Topper has a ‘pipe knocker’ chigger sized chip on the rim.  The chigger is smooth with age and visible if looked for.  The other two are in like-new condition.
