Tiara Veronique Retro Glass Egg Plate
Big, beautiful Veronique deviled egg plate. Pattern originally produced in the early 1900’s by Westmoreland. Through the years, variations of this pattern appeared by Indiana Glass and Tiara Glass. Tiara called it “Vernonique”
We believe this heavy, quality plate was made by Tiara, a spin off company of the long lived Indiana Glass. Tiara was formed in 1970 to address the home party sales events made so popular by Tupperware and Avon. Tiara “associates” would bring a selection of glassware to the homes, take product orders from the guests, and recruit new salespeople. Tiara glass ceased operations in the mid 1980’s.
Tiara duplicated many Indiana Glass patterns, which were often inspired by the patterns of early 1900’s Duncan, Westmoreland and Cambridge glass makers.
This crystal egg plate is in excellent condition with only very light bottom-wear (little scratches on the base occuring over the years). This is one reason we believe it is from Tiara. We have also found this exact pattern in an egg plate in Tiara’s catalogs. This plate dates to the 1970’s, early 1980’s. About 30 years old.
Nice, heavy egg plate. Measures 11″ wide, 1.5″ deep. Makes a beautiful Easter platter.
