Huge 1960s Tangerine Blown Glass Canister
Tasty tangerine glass canister, hand-made in the 1960s. Large rare gallon size. Perfect for the retro kitchen. Was sold through Gumps of San Francisco and came in various sizes, and in many different retro modern colors. This big canister is intense orange with hints of yellow, a favored color of the era known as ‘Tangerine’. Hand blown from mold with pontil scar remains on center of the seat. The lid rim and inner canister neck are ground to fit. There is evidence of hand-finishing shows on the uneven outer rim of the canister.
Canisters are very hard to find in this size. It measures 12.5″ tall with a girth of 24″ and holds a bit over a gallon.
