Lucite Spaghetti String Lamp from the 1960’s
A large retro mod spaghetti string lamp that hangs. This lamp is made from Lucite, circa late 1960’s – 1970’s.
The lucite this spaghetti string lamp is made from is a miraculous plastic like substance. It was invented in 1931 by DuPont and used at first for war purposes. In the late 1940’s Lucite was used to fashion adornments for the ‘fast’ ladies of the time. From the late 1940’s to 1970’s, Lucite was wildly popular and could be found in all forms imaginable.
This spaghetti string lamp is sizeable, measuring 14″ at widest by 13″ tall.
