Retro Orange Tumblers with Diamond Optic Pattern
This is a set of sturdy retro orange tumblers in a diamond optic pattern. The tumblers were hand blown and hand tooled, circa 1960’s – 1970’s. The pontil scar on one tumbler exists, while the remaining tumblers have no evident pontil by design. These retro orange tumblers are perfect bar glasses. The bright orange color matched the ice bucket which was found with these tumblers.
The ice bucket is positively identified to be a “Takahashi”, sold by Gump’s of San Francisco, USA in the 1970’s. We presume the tumblers are by the same Japanese art glass maker. It is possible that the items found together were “married” (mixed and matched) and the tumblers may be of other origin like mid-century American or Italian.
The retro orange tumblers measure 4″ tall, 3.75″ wide and weigh 1/2 lb. each.
