Rare Amber Wedgwood Glass Bull Frog Paperweight
Rare English Wedgwood Glass amber crystal frog paperweight. This fine large toad is documented as “rare” in reference books. Dates from the early 20th century. Also rare to find in this beautiful solid amber color which reflects light so well. Dark areas in the images are reflections. The color is an even deep amber. Large paperweight size. Made from solid glowing amber colored crystal. Wedgwood is a long-lived famous glass house in England. The Wedgwood back stamp is on the polished flat base. Hand-made. In very good condition. Some tiny pin-point impact marks on the rear-end and the nose, caused by bumping. Very small and hard to see. These marks are shallow and could easily be polished out. The marks are seen as tiny dots near the rump and on the nose in the images. There is one single trapped air bubble deep within the glass. It is seen in the images, larger than the specks, in the upper back center area of the toad.
This rare frog paperweight measures 5″ long, 3.5″ tall and 3.5″ at widest. It weighs 2 lbs.
