Pinched Decanter Vintage Danish Glass in Old World Style with Spout and Draped Pewter Decor
Pinched decanter made of dark green glass with pewter pouring spouts, draped collar and stopper. Marked on pewter rim “Danish Silversmiths” and impressed on the base “Denmark”.
These fascinating decanters were produced in the 1960’s when old world decor in the fashion of Henry VIII was in style. Back in the days of the Henry VIII, glass was rare and usually brown or green. Pewter was the metal of choice.
Stands 10.5″ tall and 5″ wide on three sides. Beneath the pewter stopper head, new cork was inserted. This decanter’s original cork has long since deteriorated has been replaced with a vintage cork.
In very good condition. Clean inside and out. Pewter has aged and shows heavy atmosphere damage. Still looks great though. This three-spout style is rare.
We have five of this style decanter. Click here to view all Old World Decanters in the Scandinavian Glass section.
