Hand Blown Mid-Century Modern Decor Over-Sized Decanter
Stunning mid-century modern decor glass decanter hand-blown by Bischoff, USA, in the 1960’s.
Sparkling clean and in excellent condition. Stands 17.75 inches tall! Shown next to a 6 inch tall tumbler. Quality vintage hand-blown and tooled glass in lovely aqua blue.
Made by Bischoff Glass, USA, in the 1960’s. Bischoff competed with the likes of Blenko, Pilgrim and Viking art glass during the mod mid-20th century. All the famous makers of the period made this style of ultra mod over-sized decanters.
The artist blew the body out by mouth, then pinched the sides with a hand-tool to achieve the pinched dimples. Rough pontil scar on base, left when the glass blower removed the punty which held the molten glass. The stopper was also hand formed, with dimples too, and has an elongated interior bubble. The stopper measures 7.5 inches tall from insert to tip.
Stylish mid-century modern super-sized decanter. Beautiful as a display and functional at the bar. Original stopper.
