Fratelli Toso Aventurine Art Glass Tripod Dish

Fabulous Fratelli Toso Triple Cased, Large Italian Art Glass Ashtray

This lovely tripod shaped glass ashtray was hand blown with three layers of clear, milk and turquoise glass decorated with specks of swirled platinum aventurine. The label reads “Murano Glass, Made in Italy”, label attributed to Fratelli Toso. The label dates to the 1950s. No chips or cracks. Glass is in excellent condition with a mention of a “maker’s” miss inclusion. A “maker’s miss” is something that occurs during the creation of the glass form, frequently found in hand blown items. An “Inclusion” is usually in the form of an air bubble or a speck of coal from the glass heating furnace. In this case it appears to be a speck of coal.

The triple cased dish measures 10″ wide, 2.5″ deep and weighs 2.75 lbs.
