Colonial Style Depression Glass Covered Dish
Big, sturdy Depression Glass covered dish. Most often used as a butter dish, but great for cheese balls, caviar, etc.
Made with the early glass pressing machines. Probably made in the USA. Est. circa 1930. Glass has a slight yellowish tint (due to minerals used in the batch), wavy straw lines near the polished base and a few scattered tiny trapped bubbles, all indicative of early 20th Century glass.
It’s in great condition with the only sign of wear is a ring ‘bottom-wear’ on the seat caused by years of surface contact. Bottom-wear cannot be seen unless looked for, and is expected on antique glass. Large Depression glass covered dish stands 6.5″ tall, 7.5″ wide and weighs just over 2 lbs.
