Bullicante Aventurine Bowl is Fabulous High-end Eames Era Italian Decor
A lovely bullicante Aventurine bowl with intentional internal spiraling bubbles and intense golden metallic flecks. The beautiful cigar bowl is made with thick, luscious hand-blown glass from mid 19th century Italy. Unmarked, in the style of Seguso and other fine glass artists of the 1940s to 1960s. Pontil mark is polished smooth and serves as the base. The base has very heavy bottom-wear indicating and age of at least 50 years old. Possibly late 1940s.
Liberal metallic aventurine glows like crazy under low light with a brilliant, glittering gold. Under high light, the flecks are somehow less reflective and appear copper. Nice eye candy. The bubbles begin in the center and swirl in a spiral upward, slowly enlarging in size towards the rim. The glass encasing the aventurine and bubbles begins as a very light emerald green at the pontil mark and graduates to a medium emerald green. Freeform with heat finished rims.
The bullicante Aventurine bowl is a big, heavy, deep tripod bowl that measures 8″ long on 3 sides. Straight across width is 8.5″. The deep bowl is 3″ high. It weighs 4 lbs.
