Absolutely beautiful Art Nouveau blown glass cased vase. Actual age of the vase is unknown, but it is not new. Estimated circa early 1900’s.
Art Nouveau styling with a flair for the natural/organic. Hand blown cased glass. Interior is opaque white, center layer of mottled browns and yellows (creating a striated stone look, called Chalcedony), then encased in clear glass. The cobalt blue glass blossom base and snake are hand-made and applied. The snake has eyes (see image 3). Base is ground and pontil mark is concave. Unmarked.
Quality Art Nouveau blown glass and decor made by a fine Czech/Bohemian, or possibly English, glass artist. Stands 12.25″ tall, sits on a 5.5″ wide cobalt blossom base. Weighs 3 lbs. In excellent condition.
