Beautiful Cambridge Rose Point etched Martha candle holders, circa 1930’s – 1940’s.
The Cambridge Rose Point etch smothers the bases of these beautiful elegant Depression crystal candlestick holders. Hand-made and hand-decorated by the mid 20th Century glass craftsman of the the U.S.A.
So very, very elegant. Large 8.25″ wide spread and standing 5.5″ tall. Each weigh 1.5 lbs. The etched foot and bowl were formed separately and applied to the plume and ball stem.
Lovely on the dining table or side tables. Original Cambridge part no. 495. The form design was called Martha. The Rose Point etching was one of Cambridge’s most prized decor designs.
Made with quality Depression era crystal. During the war years, lead was scarce so glass makers substituted the mineral Manganese. When Manganese is present, the glass glows a light yellowish green. Under normal lighting the clarity is high grade.
