Hand Blown Cased End-of-Day Glass
Cased milk glass bowl decorated with colorful glass rod remnants. This type of colorful spotted decor is often called “End-of-Day Glass”. Glass studios gather leftover glass shards at the end of the work day and incorporate it into the decor of the day’s final creations.
The cased glass is clear on the exterior, milk white in the interior with the colored glass swirls in the center. Hand blown, hand tooled glass.
In excellent condition. Maker and circa unknown. Polished flat pontil has heavy bottom-wear, not of recent make, probably from the mid-century years. Maker could be Italian, Polish, Scandinavian, American….many glass companies of yesteryear made items in this style.
Beautiful 8.5″ wide, 2.25″ tall art glass bowl. Weighs 2 lbs. Doubles as a cigar bowl, candleholder, incense burner.
