Stunning set of Seneca / Morgantown Driftwood Casual in Accent Red. Introduced in 1969. Circa 1969 – late 1970s. Similar to predecessor Morgantown’s “Crinkle Glass”. Often referred to as crinkle or bark glass. Sometimes mistaken for Whitefriars. Deep red glass with minute hints of yellow. About as hip and earthy as it gets. Nice, thick glass. Blown into mold – no seams. Applied blown crystal handle. Very usable. Hand wash only.

Seneca Glass Company was established in 1892 in Fostoria, Ohio, USA. Once the largest manufacturer of tumblers in the United States, they also manufactured high-quality lead stemware and boasted customers such as Eleanor Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson. In 1896, the company moved to Morgantown, West Virginia, USA. The Driftwood Casual table setting pattern was introduced during the 1950s with only 4 colors (Accent Red didn’t come until 1969) and the line grew over the next 30 years.

The set includes (6) 8.75″ tall, 16 ounce ice tea tumblers and (1) 9.25″ tall, 65 ounce, large pitcher. The pitcher weighs just under 4 lbs.
