Central Glass Antique Stemware Set of Six
Set of six gold ringed crystal stemware by Central Glass Works, cataloged stem number 1470, circa 1920’s-1930’s. Central Glass Co. was created in 1867 when disgruntled employees of Wheeling glass banded together to start a new glass house. The company became part of the glass monopoly ‘US Glass’ in 1891. Closed it’s doors for the last time with a bankruptcy in 1939.
The gold is 99% present. Looks sparkling new from a distance. Under very close inspection a few pin-holes are present and the gold has thinned some on the rims.
Hand-made. The inverted stem and bowl were blown and applied to the pressed heat finished stem. The pontil mark at the center of the inverted stem is slightly rough. Stunning set for your Retro or Deco bar or table. Cocktail or martini shaped bowl. Stand 5½” tall with a 3½” wide bowl. Set of 6.
