Description
Vintage Gold Leaf Venetian Art Glass bowl.
Made in 1950’s Italy in Venetian style on the Isle of Murano. In image 6, an ashtray exactly like this one (in a different color) is shown with the original maker’s label which reads: Hand made Genuine Venetian Glass Made in Murano Italy Vetro Artistico Veneziano. Vetro Artistico Veneziano means Artistic Venetian Glass in Italian.
The label was used as an official Italian export label, actual artist unknown. Glass offered specifically for export was made by all the great glass makers in Italy.
This ashtray does not have the original label attached.
Hand-made in colorless glass with abundant gold leaf veils trapped inside.
Back in the day when everyone smoked, beautiful bowls like this were created for multiple purposes. Functions as an ashtray, catch-all, floral bowl, candle-holder and sauce or candy bowl. Note: Always remove metal part from modern candles when using with vintage glass.
Vintage Italian art glass excellent condition. Measures 5½ long on three sides and 2¾” tall.
