Blown Glass Decanter in Amethyst with Crystal Ball Stopper.
Big blown glass decanter in amethyst glass with solid crystal ball stopper. It is an older style decanter, blown into mold then finished by hand. Pontil scar on base is polished down. Maker unknown. Estimated circa 1940’s.
The stopper is ‘married’ to the decanter meaning it is not original. Over the years the original stoppers on old decanters go missing or get broken. It is difficult to find replacements that fit well. This big solid glass stopper looks good, covers well and doesn’t wiggle. It’s a good match.
This decanter has a bulbous base, can’t be tipped over easily. It’s big, can handle a full bottle of your favorite spirit. Measures 12½” tall, 6½ wide, 19″ circumference at widest point. Weighs 2 lbs. Clean inside and out. In excellent condition.
