Vintage Murano art glass fowl figurines.
Set of Murano art glass pheasant sculptures hand-made in Italy. Large figurines weigh 3.6 lbs each. The red figurine is 14.75″ tall, and the green is 13″ tall.
Beautiful mid-century modern design. Perfect focal point for room decor. Blown sommerso glass, utilizing 3 colors encased in colorless. The red and green body colors extend seamlessly up the tail. The hand-formed base is applied with wafer to the bodies. The colorless crown, eyes and beaks are also hand-formed and applied.
Black light testing revealed a slight green glow indicating mid-20th century or earlier make. The look and style was made famous by Italian glass genius Seguso in the 1950’s.
Both are in wonderful condition. Slight bump mark found on body of green bird. No chips, no cracks, no discoloring. No maker’s mark or label. Definitely of Italian origin.[color-box]More About Italian, Murano, Venetian Glass[/color-box]
