Graceful handblown vintage glass lantern shades with foamy blister bubbles trapped within the glass. There are 3 available, choose your quantity after adding to cart.
The intentionally trapped bubbles stretched the glass was blown out, its a beautiful effect. They look fascinating when light shines through. The base is sheared and the top rim is heat finished soft.
They glow light green under black-light (see image 4). Probably date to the 1950s/1960s. Glass from Italy and some glass made in America still contained manganese instead of lead during the mid-century.
In great condition with only the normal tiny chiggers on the base rim to report. Glass is clean and brilliant.
Each stand approx. 8 ¾” tall. The height and width vary just slightly because they were hand-made. The base opening is 1 ¾” round. Weigh about 1 lb.
