Vintage Venetian Glass Hand-Blown Optic Basket

Beautiful Venetian glass basket from mid-20th century Italy. Old sticker on base reads "Genuine Venetian Glass Made in Murano Italy".  This is a generic label from the 1940s to 1960s. The sticker is not directly attributed to one of the infamous mid-century Italian glass masters, but likely came from one of their studios.  Read more about Italian Glass. Hand-made in plum amethyst crystal with richly defined diamond pillow optic decor and applied colorless reeded handle and ruffled rim and base.  Gold leaf is spattered throughout the colorless glass.   The rim, handle and base ruffle were applied to the optic basket.  Well-made by a fine artist. In perfect condition.  Measures 7½" tall, 7.75" long, and 5.25" wide. For the luxurious Easter basket!  Lovely eye-catching item with multiple uses; flowers, fruit, business cards, etc.
