Amber Moon and Star kitchen canister set

SOLD Made by LE Smith, circa 1930s/1940s. Set of 3 includes two large gallon canisters and a quarter gallon canister.

Beautiful, thick Depression glass in the 'Moon and Star' pattern.

All three jars are in perfect condition.  Two lids are perfect and one lid has two small chiggers shown in image 4.   Glass is clean and brilliant - no liquid stains.  Thick mold blown glass with pontil scars on seat (left by the makers tool). Containers were made with a 4-part mold, lids were 2-part.  The inner neck of the jars and the outer rim of the lids are 'ground to fit' creating an airtight seal.

All canisters have a solid band of bottom-wear which is found on the seats of very old glass caused by years of shelf-wear.  Bottom-wear cannot be seen unless looked for and is not considered damage.

Large canisters measure 11½" tall, weighs 5 lbs. Smaller canister is 7" tall and weighs 2½ lbs.
