Big Art Deco Orrefors Crytsal Optic Ball Vase signed Edward Hald 1930s

VERY Large Swedish optic art glass ball vase by Orrefors, Sweden.

Rare beauty from the late 1930s signed 'Of HZ48'.  Designed by Edward Hald. Thick blown light blue crystal with horizontal optic panels.  The exterior of the vase is smooth, and on the interior the panels are slightly raised.  Stunning optical illusion of light refraction.  The blue darkens and lightens with position and lighting angle.  Just beautiful. Very large ball vase, twice the size of a bowling ball, weighs 7 lbs.  Shown in image 1 with an Orrefors bud vase, in image 2 with a large cocktail stem, and in image 3 with a bunch of large bush roses. In very good condition.  A couple of slight side dings that can only be seen when studied closely, so small they cannot be felt.  Glass is clean and brilliant.  Heavy bottom-wear indicative of heavy glass rubbing against a surface for 80+ years. You can see the bottom-wear in image 4 above the signature. Measures 11" at widest with a widest girth of 20".
