Made during the first attempt to save the world.

Back in the 1970s, the people were intent on saving our resources, developing solar energy, electric cars, recycling, etc., just like today.  Unfortunately our corporations and politicians (one in the same?) were not intent on making the changes and nearly all of the efforts fizzled out and were forgotten.  Today we are reminded.  Let's hope we can find the solutions this time around.
Anyway, this great canister size jar has a beautiful solid wood lid. The wood is a light, rich teak.  It's vessel is a sheared 4-liter bottle blown from a mold with markings on the base.  We don't know what the markings on the base stand for.  Just as the bottle curves up, the words "4 Liters(135 fluid ounces)" are imbossed on two sides.
Slight bottom-wear.  Sits on a ridge of embossed diamonds which protects it from showing surface wear.  Glass is in excellent condition. Lid shows just a tad of wear, no damage.
Measures 8" tall, 7" at widest with a girth of 20.5".  Weighs 2.25 lbs.
The lid does not provide an air-tight seal.  Best used for cookies or items which are eaten within a week or so.  Good for dried goods, supplies, collections, etc.
