Ultra retro modern peacock blue glass towering goblet.

Scarce item from the ultra-mod Italian designers of the mid 20th Century.
Hand-blown in three parts.  Domed foot is applied to the long drawn stem.  Huge blown bowl is applied to the stem.  Rounded, half moon pontil scar in center of foot.
Stands 16.5" tall,  with a 7" wide round globe (20" circumference).
Beautiful, rare mid-century modern vase looks awesome with fern like foliage.  Mouth opening is 4.25" wide.  A 4" pot will fit inside and rest on the rim.  Plants should not be planted directly in the glass.  Would make an eye-catching tip jar on the grand piano.  Great as a candleholder (Important note when using new candles in vintage glass:  remove any and all metal from the candle before use)
In excellent original condition with medium bottom wear.  There are 2 tiny bubbles and two tiny ash inclusion in the bowl and 1 tiny bubble in foot.  The inclusions are indicative of vintage hand-blown glass, not considered errors.
Dates to the 1940s-1950s.  Made in Italy.  No makers label or marks.  Famous Italian glass makers known to have made this extreme shape are Moretti, Venini, Barbini, Scarpa..  Images 5 & 6 show two saucer shaped extreme goblets (available separately as a set).
