Modernist glass amethyst jug vase and cordials

Vintage Swedish modern style black amethyst glass vase doubles as a mod pitcher.

Circa 1940s - 1960s.  May be early Blenko grape glass.  May be Italian or Scandivian from the same eras. Comes with 3 small cordials or juice glasses in grape amethyst (glasses are not black amethyst, but the purple hue is the same as the pitcher).

Black amethyst looks black under normal lighting and reflects in plum / grape amethyst with back-lighting.

Hand-blown with polished inverted round pontil mark. Heavy, nice quality glass.

In great condition.  See image 4; next to the pontil mark is a sliver chip.  Not visible unless looked for. Small maker's miss on the rim of a tiny protruding nub of glass, this is common on Blenko items. Also very hard to see.

Measures 6" tall with a 4.5" wide rim. Weighs 1.5 lbs.  Would make a lovely candleholder also, but if your candle has metal on the base, remove the metal before lighting a candle in old glass.
