On Sale! 19th Century glass cruet and bowl in an arranged marriage.

Beautiful set of antique glass.  The cruet-sized pitcher sits inside the bowl perfectly flat, with no room for slipping, as if they were made to fit together.  The optic coin dot patterns match exactly.  But they did not start as a pair, and probably are not from the same maker.
The "late in life" marriage was discovered by placing the glass under blacklight.  The cruet has manganese in its glass recipe and it glows yellow under blacklight (see image 8).  The bowl reflected purple under blacklight, so it has a different glass recipe.  It may be flint glass.
The cruet has a step pattern on the neck which is an Irish glass characteristic.  We believe both of these items are Irish or English origin. The zippered rim of the cruet was fashioned for a cork, this item was not made with a stopper.  The cork is not original, it is a replacement.
Both items are pressed glass.  The bowl was made with a 4-part mold, the cruet was blown into a 2-part mold.  Seams are slightly visible.
No chips or cracks on either piece.  Glass is clean and brilliant.
Cruet measures 5.5" tall.  Bowl is 7.25" wide and 1.75" tall.  Bowl sits on a raised rayed base.  Cruet has a smooth base.  No maker's marks.
