Retro Rainbow Art Glass Decanter and Six Tumblers
Tall retro modern decanter with six large tumblers and original tag. Set includes 6 full-sized footed tumblers and an oversized decanter with stopper.
Original tag was saved with the set. Back side of tag (not shown) reads “est. 1608 – Glass, America’s First Industry, Huntington West Virginia”. “1608” refers to the first glassmaking in America. Rainbow Art Glass objects were popular during the mid-20th Century.
Stunning set. Appears unused. Excellent condition. Tiny dots seen within the pattern are impressions from the opposite side’s pattern. Blown from mold with high-relief pryamid patterned decor. Pontil mark, from glass-blowers rod, is visible in image 4. Tear-drop stopper with trapped air bubble was hand blown.
The huge stopper measures 8 1/8″ long. The bottle is 9″ tall. Together, the decanter measures 15.5″ tall and weigh 2.25 lbs. The tumblers are 5.25″ tall and weigh 1 lb each. Set weighs 8.25 lbs unpacked. Exceptional find. Circa 1960’s. Hippie decor, modernist decor. Rare set.
