Emerald Green Swirled Pin Cushion Paperweight
Dichoric green pin cushion paperweight with spiral controlled bubbles. This beautiful well-executed paperweight bears the etched initials CSL. We have searched our references and have not found the identity of the initials. It appears to Italian/Murano made, but could be from any country.
Big solid colorless glass ball with an emerald green swirled “pin cushion” in the center. Five elongated bubbles reach out from it. This technique is called “pin cushion” because the artist made bubbles protruding from the green with a pin. Bits of copper aventurine cover the cushion. Lastly, tiny bubbles swirl out from the top and twirl around the entire paperweight. An exceptional, eye-pleasing mix of decorating techniques. Flat polished base with etched initials CSL.
The paperweight stands 3″ tall with a girth of 6.5″. It weighs 1.75 lbs.
