Ruby and Milk Glass Vintage Table Oil Lamp
Country charmed oil lantern / hurricane lamp from yesteryear.
This big, beautiful old milk glass oil lamp appears to have been unused all these years. The only aging to speak of is on the Eagle brass hardware which shows patina, but no damage. The ruby flashed base decor is bright, solid and unmarred, unusual for vintage flashed items. The glass has an internal stress crack on the seat of the base (bottom, must turn upside down to see), but does not affect its integrity and it does not leak. The thick milk glass is in a bumpy hobnail pattern. The wick is unused. The hobnail shade may be by Fenton. The glass maker is unknown. This is a large lantern, will light up a small room.
The milk glass oil lamp stands 16.5″ tall to the tip of hurricane chimney. It is 9″ at widest and largest girth is 25″. It is very heavy, sturdy and stable. At least of vintage age, could be in the antique range.
